A very finely painted depiction: against an architectural backdrop, the Mother of God, having fallen asleep, lies on a catafalque with richly ornamented drapery. She is surrounded by apostles and two bishops. Behind her, within a red, radiant mandorla, stands Christ, holding the Mother of God’s soul in his arms. Retouching. Dimensions: 28 x 23 cm.
