A large tapestry depicting the Triumph of Bacchus and Ariadne Textile, woven in polychrome. Bacchus and Ariadne on a chariot drawn by two big cats, surrounded by putti and a Bacchic retinue; on the right, presumably a Silenus riding a donkey. Forest landscape with architectural elements in the background. Four-sided border featuring flowers, fruits, birds, and ornamental foliage; a black outer border woven into the fabric that runs around the entire piece. Wear and tear due to age and use. Isolated fiber loss and loosened or opened knit gaps, with exposed warp threads in places. Several light-colored sewing stitches and thread remnants. Along the upper edge on the reverse side, fitted with a light-colored woven strip and a wide nonwoven strip; the woven strip is partially detached at one corner. Metal rings for hanging attached to the edges. Dimensions approx. 252 × 327 cm. Condition: II - III
