"Standing Great Dane," Karl Himmelstoss (Breslau 1878–1967 Munich), 1899 Bronze, brown patina, on a wooden base. Standing Great Dane with a collar on an irregularly relief-carved plinth. Signed and dated “C. Himmelstoss 99” on the plinth. Minor scuffs and patina wear; wooden base with small scratches and dents. Dimensions 19 × 25 × 6.5 cm. Karl Himmelstoss was a German sculptor and porcelain artist who created, in particular, animal sculptures and designs for porcelain manufacturers. Provenance: Estate of the Himmelstoss family. Condition: I–II
