A life-size bronze sculpture of a German Shorthaired Pointer, German, probably late 19th / early 20th century Bronze, hollow-cast and chiseled. Depiction of a reclining, life-size German Shorthaired Pointer on a naturalistically designed, irregularly contoured base. The dog rests with one front leg extended and the other slightly bent; its head is slightly raised and facing forward. The fur is rendered with fine detail through densely applied, chiseled lines; the paws are set off with smooth pads; the nose, nostrils, and eyeballs—with contracted pupils—are finely rendered. A dark brown to black-brown multi-layered patina, lightened to a warm brown metallic tone on raised areas, flanks, and back due to abrasion; the base plate has light deposits in places. Dimensions approx. 37 × 77 × 48 cm. Please note: Pickup only, or please request a shipping quote before bidding! Self-collection or please get a shipping quote prior to bidding! Condition: I - II
