Semi-draped female figure, 20th century, bronze Bronze, with a nuanced brown patina: the figure is light to golden brown, the drapery is dark brown, and the naturalistically modeled terrain plinth is nearly black with a partially greenish patina; the surrounding profiled edge is polished to a high sheen. Mounted on a black limestone pedestal. A female figure leaning against a rock formation, with her head raised, one leg bent, and a cloth draped over her hips and legs. One arm rests on her knee, her hand holding a quill pen raised to her chin; an open book lies on her knee. Upper arm bracelets in the shape of coiled snakes; on the plinth, a rose blossom, foliage, and a snake. In one spot on the back, fine, web-like cracking of the surface layer; three small, gray discolored spots on the shoulder and back, as well as one on the cheek. Fine scratch marks on all sides. Dimensions: sculpture 41 × 30 × 20 cm; pedestal 2.5 × 34 × 24.5 cm. Condition: II
