Two Small Still Lifes, Hildegard Schwammberger (Essen 1950–2024 Passau) Oil on wood. 1) Floral still life: Signed “Schwammberger” in the lower right corner. Roses and other flowers in a dark glass vase on a light-colored stone ledge; in the foreground, individual flowers, an ear of grain, and a bumblebee; water droplets on the ledge. Paint layer with scattered fine scratch marks. Gilded wooden frame with scuffs and small areas where the gilding is missing. Painting dimensions 10 × 12 cm, frame dimensions 21.5 × 23.5 cm. 2) Fruit still life: Signed “Schwammberger” lower left. Peaches, light and dark grapes, as well as berries and vines on a draped cloth, with a butterfly above. Paint layer with occasional fine scratch marks. Gilded wooden frame with scuffs and small areas where the gilding is missing. Image dimensions 9 × 11 cm, frame dimensions 20.5 × 22.5 cm. Schwammberger is particularly known for her flower and fruit still lifes, executed with delicate glazing in the tradition of Dutch still-life painting. Condition: I - II
