"Untitled" (Portrait of a Young Woman), Anonymous Oil on cardboard, framed under glass. Handwritten inscription on the lower corner strip of the frame’s back, not clearly legible. A bust portrait of a young woman against a dark background; her head is facing forward, looking at the viewer; dark hair; dark clothing. Wear on the paint layer at two points along the lower edge of the painting, approx. 1.5 cm and approx. 1 cm. Isolated areas of lightening in the center of the painting, on the left half. Varnish is uneven under UV light. Assessment of the painting’s surface is limited by the glass. The mitered joints of the frame are open at three visible corners. Loss of paint and gilding down to the white ground along the edges and in the flat profile. Abrasion of the gilding with exposed red poliment on the ridges of the outer profile. Viewing dimensions 37 × 31 cm, frame dimensions 64 × 58.2 cm. Condition: II -
