Women.- Walker (Anthony) The Virtuous Woman Found, Her Loss bewayl'd and Character Exemplified in a Sermon..., 4 parts in 1, 17pp. catalogue at end, title with early ownership inscription to head and publisher's advertisement laid down to verso, light water-staining throughout, bound quite tight, modern mottled calf, morocco spine labels, extremities slightly rubbed, t.e.g., [cf. Wing W313 & W314], 12mo, for Nathanael Ranew, 1686. *** A sermon on the life of Mary, Countess of Warwick (1624-1678), first published in 1678. Mary was sister to the scientist Robert Boyle, to whom the work is dedicated. ESTC records only one copy dated 1686 in the British Library (Wing W313), although this consists of only the first part with catchword "Rules" on p.129 (?a fragment). The present copy is consistent with Wing W314 in containing also second, third and fourth parts, each with separate title-page dated 1686, although the general title is dated 1686 rather than 1687.
