27 - Cutting from a Choirbook, with a large finely painted initial, in Latin, decorated manuscript on vellum, [Italy, thirteenth century], large cutting, with an initial ‘I’ (opening the introit “Intret in conspectu tuo domine ...”) in delicately painted grey, pale brown and orange acanthus leaves, with tiny hairline white foliate brushwork overlaid, all on dark blue grounds, red rubric, one- and 2-line initials in alternate red or blue with contrasting penwork, some stains and folds, small illegible areas, a small hole and a rust mark from old paperclip at head, overall fair condition, 226 by 195mm.
