Pair of charcoal drawings on mounted paper. 325x390 mm each. Each is signed, titled, and dated during the Fascist era in the upper right corner. The lot consists of views of the Colosseum and the Roman Forum. Known primarily for his advertising posters, he moved to Rome in 1932 and worked as an illustrator for ENIC between 1939 and 1940. His paintings are on display at Villa Il Corno, owned by the Counts of Frova in San Casciano in Val di Pesa, and at the Vittorio Veneto Technical Institute in Latina. The chapel on the first floor of the Ghisilardi Fava Palace in Bologna—then known as the Casa del Fascio—was built based on his design and is dedicated to the memory of the fallen Fascists of Bologna. (2) Both works are framed with glass: 46 x 52.5 cm. Traces of paper along the edges. Overall in good condition.
