516 - Oil on canvas. 86.5 x 69 cm. Signed on the reverse in black marker, along with "Florence." There are inscriptions on the back of the stretcher, written in both pencil and blue pastel, containing instructions for the preservation of the canvas and various measurements. The work is a reproduction of *Justice*, attributed to Simone Pignoni and painted approximately between 1640 and 1660. Mambriani, originally from the Parma area, was active in Florence from the 1910s until his death in 1968. He moved to Florence after completing his academic studies in Parma, and, in addition to his own body of work, he was particularly appreciated for his detailed replicas of works by the great masters of the Renaissance and Baroque periods. (1) Preserved in a frame: 107 x 95 cm. Widespread craquelure and scattered small areas of paint loss, one of which is more noticeable in the upper left corner. Good overall condition.
