A volume of kimono design sketches, containing 12 pages with illustrations on both sides, featuring 24 splendid color woodblock prints (with pronounced karazuri effects and silver accents) depicting beautiful motifs of birds, flowers, and landscapes. Third volume (of a three-volume series). The woodblock carver was Kinoshita Yūnosuke, and the printer was Tarui Kamejirō. Accordion-style binding. Ueno Kiyoe, also known by the pen name Ueno Seiko, was a leading applied arts designer, painter, and master of Japanese textile pattern design, active during the Meiji and Shōwa periods. Born in Kyoto as Jisaburō, he is celebrated as the founder of the renowned Ueno family, famous for the art of Kyō-Yūzen (the Kyoto yūzen dyeing technique).
