Arrivet (active between 1737 and 1780) taken from the *Petit Atlas Maritime*, a comprehensive collection of nautical charts compiled by Jacques Nicolas Bellin, royal hydrographer and naval engineer. Map of Portoferraio, highlighting the strategic importance of the location in the maritime context. The main buildings and fortifications, such as “La Citadelle,” are depicted, and the urban layout—including streets and defensive structures—is carefully outlined. In the bay, labeled “Baye de Ferrare,” navigation lines radiate from a central point to guide sailors as they approach the port. (1) Sheet intact as originally issued, mounted at the top in a modern frame. A few spots of mold and two tape marks on the side margins.
