200 - A monumental Louis XVI-style table and jewelry box set from the 20th century. Crafted from carved wood, enameled metal, and large gilded bronze mounts. The table top is made of enameled marble. The set consists of a table with fluted legs featuring carved knee joints, connected by a molding that supports a rectangular tabletop with raised corners. It features a drawer at the waist. It is accompanied by a large, architecturally designed jewelry box topped by a bronze lid adorned with large figures of seated ladies. The interior of the box is lined with fabric. The entire set is decorated with cobalt blue and sky blue backgrounds featuring gallant scenes, mascarons, and garlands in reserved areas. Modeled after the so-called “Marie Antoinette” jewelry chest. Table dimensions: 95 x 116 x 65 cm. Jewelry chest dimensions: 60 x 90 x 40 cm.
