Jacob Binck, Madonna and Child on a Grassy Bank. 1520–1569. Engraving. 127 × 80 mm. Bartsch, VIII, 19. Hollstein, 40. With the monogram on the plate in the lower left corner within a small panel. An excellent proof of this rare engraving in the first state of two on thin laid paper, apparently without a watermark. On the reverse, a mark from the collection of Baron Adalbert Freiherr von Lanna (1836–1909) (Lugt, 2773). (1) The print is mounted with two staples at the top within a modern cardboard mount. Trimmed to the copper plate’s outline, which is visible in places. Very slight defects repaired along the margins on the reverse; minimal residual paper also present on the reverse.
