Jean Després A French silver gold and sodalite cabochon Art Déco necklace. Geometrically designed necklace with three large bezel-set sodalite cabochons alternating with geometric two-tone links. Incorporated into a bar-link chain with a small box clasp. Hallmarks: Small Paris guarantee mark for silver fineness 800, “tête de sanglier” (boar’s head), in use since 1838 (Tardy, Silver, p. 199), maker’s mark “JD”. Length 53.0 cm. Weight 103.75 g. Jean Després, Paris, c. 1930. Literature Cf. Gabardi, Jean Després, Paris, 2009, p. 68. An identical model set with chalcedonies was exhibited at Galerie Braun, Paris, in 1931.
