Keramik rest., Sockel Über die Bedeutung dieser Figuren, der einzigen heiteren Darstellungen innerhalb des ansonsten blutgeprägten Olymps der altmexikanischen Götterwelt, besteht bislang keine eindeutige Klarheit. Einer Hypothese zufolge stellen sie junge Menschen dar, die unter dem Einfluss von Rauschmitteln stehen und im Rahmen eines Fruchtbarkeitsrituals ihrem Opfertod sowie der damit verbundenen Existenz in einem besseren Jenseits freudig entgegensehen. Zahlreiche dieser Figuren wurden zudem rituell zerbrochen.
