2009 Domaine de la Romanee Conti, Montrachet, 1 bottle Bottle conditions : (in bond) All condition and packaging abbreviations (e.g., owc, ts, lbsl, etc.) are given in their original English form. Refer to our catalog for an explanation of these abbreviations. Wine notes: "The 2009 Montrachet has come together beautifully since I last tasted it from barrel. From barrel the 2009 was super-ripe and almost tropical but it seems to have settled down over the last year. There is still plenty of signature 2009 richness and ripeness, but the wine's minerality is now much more present. A brilliant, textured finish rounds things out in style. Overall, the 2009 is a mid-weight Montrachet. I would love to see it age for several decades, but it takes a pretty courageous soul to age white Burgundy these days. "(96pts) Provenance: King of the North: DRC Verticals Purchased on Release. A major collector in Scandinavia presents fifty-three lots devoted entirely to Domaine de la Romanée-Conti, drawn from a much larger collection. Every bottle was purchased on release and kept in temperature-controlled storage. La Tâche holds court with seventeen vintages, including every year from 2006 through 2021, plus the 2004, while Richebourg parades in thirteen vintages from 2004 through 2020!! Romanée-Conti reigns in fourteen vintages, unbroken from 2006 through 2011 and again from 2014 through 2021!!! Montrachet completes the set with nine vintages from 2002 to 2019.
