2009 Domaine Leflaive, Chevalier Montrachet, 1 magnum Parcel Lots 130-131: The buyer of the 1st lot of the parcel may be granted the right to buy any or all additional Lots in the Parcel for the same hammer price, at the auctioneer’s discretion and if there is no higher absentee bid on any subsequent Lot. See sales conditions for more details. Bottle conditions : (in bond) All condition and packaging abbreviations (e.g., owc, ts, lbsl, etc.) are given in their original English form. Refer to our catalog for an explanation of these abbreviations. Wine notes: "An ultra-pure and high-toned nose of mineral-based reduction, spiced pear and acacia blossom gives way to overtly stony and quite finely detailed broad-shouldered flavors that despite their significant size and weight, are crystalline in their transparency. This very much seems to be built on a base of liquid limestone with impeccable balance and flat out stunning persistence."(96pts BH) Provenance: From Europe with Love: Our continental gentleman, a collector of extraordinary taste and legendary generosity, returns with 100+ selections of ancient and modern wonders. The headline is 1959 Latour, supported by Cheval Blanc from 1953, 1955, and 1961, full cases of 1975 and 1982 La Mission Haut-Brion, and Margaux reaching back to 1924. Red Burgundy showcases 1971 Rousseau Chambertin and twelve bottles of 1999 Grivot Richebourg in OCB, while White Burgundy introduces the rare 2016 L’Exceptionnelle Vendange des Sept Domaines Montrachet and Coche-Dury Meursault Perrières from 2013 and 2015. A jeroboam of 1964 Pommery and two bottles of 1875 Barbeito Malvasia Madeira bring a proper final toast. All wines ideally stored in Europe. Refer to original catalog header sections for additional information on provenance when available.
