99 - A Rare famille verte Biscuit Table with a Figure Scene, Kangxithe flat top of half moon shape, finely enamelled with a scene from the Romance of the Western Chamber of a sleeping scholar at his candlelit desk, dreaming of the two lovers meeting at night with a man bearing a drawn sword and a flaming torch, the table unglazed underneath and set on tripod mask legs . Famille verte biscuit miniature tables and stands of Kangxi period are well represented in Western collections, but it is very unusual to see a narrative figure subject like the present example, and the elegant semi circular shape is also rare. L:27cm. H:7cm. [The top in good condition, all the legs restored at the join with the table] Link of detail photos: https://we.tl/t-0vybFezfKf5mPNA2
