Hardly anyone gained such a detailed insight into Picasso’s creative phases, working methods, and understanding of art. - “The friendship between Picasso and Sabartés, who in recent years served as the artist’s secretary, dates back more than sixty years, to their youth in Barcelona. In this book, Sabartés’ text serves as an introduction to Picasso’s studio, where the reader can browse through the artist’s work. The volume was conceived by Mourlot in 1945, and the plates were selected and their printing approved by Picasso.” (Eleanor M. Garvey). Case edges faded. - Foxing throughout. All pages of the suite show slight foxing; the illustrations have very few foxing spots in some areas. One page is more heavily affected.
