Horst Skodlerrak. Noon in Tuscany. Oil on wood. 1965. 10.7 × 13.0 cm. Signed and dated; titled on the reverse. Auction time: approx. 12:29 (Schedule subject to change) A charming small-format work that reflects Skodlerrak’s delicate, linear style. — In 1962–63, the Villa Romana Prize enabled him to spend an extended period in Tuscany. This resulted in paintings of Tuscany “in the Skodlerrak style, featuring enchanted villas and towering cypresses” (Claudia Ehrenstein, on the occasion of the artist’s death on March 23, 2010, in *Welt*, online: https://www.welt.de/welt_print/kultur/article6890921/Luebeck-erinnert-an-den-Maler-Horst-Skodlerrak.html). - Mounted on a wooden panel covered with silk and framed.
