Philipp Seitz - Jakob Dietz. *Die Neuen Blätter*. Five portfolios containing a total of 15 etchings. Circa 1925. Bidding time: approx. 12:23 (Schedule subject to change) No place or year indicated, presumably Nuremberg around 1925. — Each portfolio contains three etchings on Japanese paper, each signed and numbered, and a title page with a vignette, signed and numbered. - Each is copy XII/XXV from the deluxe edition in half-parchment portfolios by Otto Dorfner; an additional 75 copies were delivered in half-linen portfolios. - Series 2: Philipp Seitz. Dancers. - Series 3: Jakob Dietz. Fairy Tales. - Series 4: Philipp Seitz. Gods. - Series 5: Jakob Dietz. Nights. - Series 6: Philipp Seitz. Small-Town Stories. - Biographical information on both artists (Philipp Seitz 1901–1982; Jakob Dietz 1889–1960) are sparse; the connecting element during the period when the prints were created is likely their work as commercial artists in Nuremberg, where they probably met in 1924. - The LETTER Foundation’s collection includes issues 1–4. Issues 7–12, mentioned on the title pages, were likely never published. 31.0 × 25.0 cm. (portfolios). - 1 portfolio spine is stained; 1 has small missing sections.
