IVO SALIGER (AUSTRIA / AUSTRIAN 1894 - 1987) - Die Parzen (The Three Fates) *** DESCRIPTION OF THE LOT: *** Date: around 1925 Technique: etching on paper Dimensions: 39,5 × 36 cm Signature: bottom right Framed: framed Lot information: The iconic graphic sheet "Die Parzen" represents one of Ivo Saliger's most famous symbolist-academic works with the theme of vanitas (transience). Saliger's style from the early 1920s stands out for the neoclassical purity of the bodies of the two young Fates, Clotho and Lachesis, with their almost sculptural modeling, which contrasts with the chilling anatomy of death in the third figure, Fate Atropos. __________________________________________________________________________ Bidders are obliged to inform themselves about the condition of the lots before the auction, subsequent complaints will not be taken into account.
