Tignanello, 2001. I.G.T. Tuscany, Italy. Red wine. 1 3-liter bottle (double magnum). Wine Spectator: 95/100 (2020 re-rating). Original wooden case, featuring the Tignanello inscription and the Antinori emblem. Condition: 2.5 cm of wine remaining under the cork. The capsule has slight wrinkles, scuffs, and superficial signs of storage. The main label remains intact and legible, though it shows moisture stains, color variations, and minor scuffs, particularly visible on the lower half and the right side. The back label remains attached and legible, with slight signs of aging. It comes from a private collection cellar, maintained under optimal temperature and humidity conditions. The 2001 vintage, part of a harvest particularly prized for its quality and aging potential, represents one of the most highly regarded expressions of this historic label. Tignanello is one of Italy’s most iconic wines and a cornerstone in the history of the so-called Super Tuscans. Its emergence in the 1970s marked a turning point in Italian viticulture, contributing decisively to the revival of Tuscany’s great wines and their international recognition.
