Amarone della Valpolicella Classico Superiore, 1991. D.O.C. Amarone della Valpolicella, Veneto, Italy. Red wine. 1 bottle, 75 cl. Condition: The bottle is filled to a level approximately 3 cm below the neck. The original capsule is intact and properly secured, with the winery’s identifying embossing on the top and the inscriptions “Giuseppe Quintarelli” and “Negrar” on the sides. The original label is intact, well-adhered, and legible. The designation “Amarone della Valpolicella,” the “Classico Superiore” category, the 1991 vintage, and the producer’s information are clearly identifiable. There are slight signs of wear, with minimal isolated imperfections on the paper. It comes from a private collection, where it was stored under optimal temperature and humidity conditions. Giuseppe Quintarelli is one of the leading figures in traditional Veneto viticulture and a key figure in the history of Amarone. His winery, located in Negrar, in the heart of the Valpolicella Classica, achieved international recognition thanks to meticulous winemaking, limited production, and extended aging periods. Amarone is produced by partially drying the grapes after harvest—a process known as appassimento—which enhances the concentration of sugars and aromatic compounds. Quintarelli’s traditional winemaking, based primarily on native grape varieties such as Corvina, Corvinone, and Rondinella, is distinguished by its structure and aging potential. The 1991 vintage stands as a testament to the winery’s historic production and is of particular interest to collectors of great Italian wines.
