Mazis-Chambertin Grand Cru, 2002. Magnum (1.5 L) A.O.C. Mazis-Chambertin, Gevrey-Chambertin, Côte de Nuits, Burgundy, France. Red wine. 1 1.5-liter Magnum bottle. Condition: Liquid level 1.5 cm below the neck. Original gold capsule, intact. Green French tax seal preserved on the top, with slight signs of oxidation at the attachment points. Original main label, intact and perfectly legible, with slight irregularities along the edges. Good overall condition, consistent with its age. From a private collection, stored under optimal temperature and humidity conditions. Mazis-Chambertin is one of the most structured grands crus of Gevrey-Chambertin, renowned for the power and depth of its Pinot Noir. Philippe Charlopin-Parizot, a leading figure in contemporary Burgundy, produces wines of remarkable concentration and aromatic richness. The 2002 vintage, particularly prized in the Côte de Nuits for its ripeness and balance, offers favorable conditions for prolonged aging. This wine may develop notes of black cherry, wild berries, spices, underbrush, and truffle, with a full-bodied texture and well-integrated tannins. Its Magnum format, which allows for a more gradual aging process, adds to the appeal of this collector’s item.
