L’Ermita, 2002. Álvaro Palacios, D.O.Q. Priorat, Tarragona, Spain. Red wine. 1 75-cl bottle. 94/100 Vinous (Stephen Tanzer). Condition: Level: IN (at the neck). Front label complete and legible, with moisture stains, particularly noticeable on the right side. Bottom label with stains and signs of storage. Capsule intact, with slight surface scuffs. Seal from the Priorat Regulatory Council intact. From a private collection, stored under optimal temperature and humidity conditions. L’Ermita is Álvaro Palacios’s most iconic wine and one of the great benchmarks of the Priorat and contemporary Spanish viticulture. It comes from a unique vineyard located in Gratallops, on steep slopes with slate soils, characterized by very low yields and limited production. The 2002 vintage, made with 80% Garnacha and 20% Cabernet Sauvignon, stands out for its concentration, depth, and mineral expression. Awarded 94 points by Vinous, it features notes of black fruit, spices, and balsamic undertones, accompanied by fine tannins and a lingering finish.
