Doix Costers de Vinyes Velles, 2005. Mas Doix, D.O.Q. Priorat, Tarragona, Spain. Red wine. 12 bottles of 75 cl. In its two original wooden cases of 6 bottles each, opened for inspection. 98/100 The Wine Advocate (Jay S. Miller). 95/100 Wine Spectator. Condition: Liquid level: IN (at the neck). Front labels are complete and legible, with stains and signs of storage of varying intensity; one bottle in particular has noticeable moisture stains. Capsules are intact, with slight scuffs and superficial signs of wear. From a private collection, stored under optimal temperature and humidity conditions. Doix Costers de Vinyes Velles is Mas Doix’s flagship wine and one of the Priorat’s greatest wines. Produced in Poboleda from old Garnacha and Cariñena vineyards, grown on the region’s characteristic llicorella soils, it stands out for its concentration, complexity, and pronounced mineral character. The uniqueness of its vineyards and its limited production have cemented its prestige among Spain’s great wines. The 2005 vintage, awarded 98 points by The Wine Advocate and 95 by Wine Spectator, stands out for its intensity, balance, and depth. Made primarily from Carignan and Grenache from old vines, it features notes of black fruit, spices, licorice, and mineral nuances, accompanied by a powerful structure and a long finish. Its international acclaim and the presentation of twelve bottles in their two original wooden cases further enhance the appeal of this set for collectors of fine Priorat wines.
