Clos Erasmus, 2000. Magnum (1.5 L). D.O.Q. Priorat, Gratallops, Tarragona, Spain. Red wine. 1 1.5-liter Magnum bottle. Robert Parker (The Wine Advocate): 96/100. Jeb Dunnuck: 95/100. Condition: Fill level IN (Into Neck). Original black capsule, intact, with a red top trim and the estate’s emblem embossed on it. Original main label, complete, well-adhered, and perfectly legible, with slight marks and a small irregularity in the lower right corner. Lower identification and bottling label intact and legible, with slight wrinkles in the lower section. Official D.O.Q. Priorat guarantee-of-origin back label present, with slight signs of wear at the edges. Good overall condition. It comes from a private collection, stored under optimal temperature and humidity conditions. Clos Erasmus is one of the iconic wines of the Priorat’s contemporary renaissance. Created by Daphne Glorian in the late 1980s, it is part of a small group of projects that helped establish the appellation among the world’s great wine-producing regions. It comes from low-yield vineyards situated on llicorella soils, characterized by their fragmented slate, and is made primarily from Garnacha, with contributions from other Mediterranean varieties. The 2000 vintage reflects a style of remarkable concentration, structure, and maturity, with expressions of black fruit, spices, mineral notes, and balsamic nuances.
