L'Ermita, 2001. D.O.Q. Priorat, Tarragona, Catalonia, Spain. Red wine. 1 bottle, 75 cl. Robert Parker (The Wine Advocate): 96/100. Stephen Tanzer (International Wine Cellar): 95/100. Condition: Fill level IN (Into Neck), as seen in the photo. Original black capsule intact, with a red embossed seal on top, in good condition. Original main label complete and legible, with moisture stains. Álvaro Palacios’s lower label is present, intact, and legible, though it also has widespread moisture stains. The D.O.Q. Priorat guarantee seal on the back is complete and legible. It comes from a private collection, stored under optimal temperature and humidity conditions. L'Ermita is one of Spain’s most prestigious and rare wines, created by Álvaro Palacios in the heart of the Priorat. It comes from a unique vineyard located on the slopes of Gratallops, where old vines grow on licorella soils—the region’s characteristic slate—which contributes to the mineral character of its wines. The 2001 vintage was made primarily from Garnacha, accompanied by small proportions of other varieties, from very low yields and with careful aging in French oak. It stands out for its concentration, elegance, and aromatic depth, with hints of ripe black fruit, raspberry, licorice, spices, Mediterranean herbs, and mineral notes. Its structure and length reflect the uniqueness of this historic vineyard.
