L'Ermita, 2000. D.O.Q. Priorat, Catalonia, Spain. Álvaro Palacios. Red wine. 1 bottle, 75 cl. Jeb Dunnuck: 97/100 points. Condition: Fill level IN (Into Neck). Original black capsule intact, with a red embossed seal on top, showing slight surface scuffs. Original main label complete and legible, with moisture stains and surface dirt. It also shows slight scuffs and horizontal marks in the center, with no significant loss of paper. The lower Álvaro Palacios label is complete and legible. The D.O.Q. Priorat guarantee seal on the back is intact and legible. It comes from a private collection, stored under optimal temperature and humidity conditions. L'Ermita is one of the most prestigious wines of the Priorat and the most iconic creation of Álvaro Palacios, a key figure in the international recognition of this wine region. It comes from an exceptional vineyard located on the slopes of Gratallops, where old vines grow on the characteristic licorella soils, rich in slate, which impart depth and a pronounced mineral character. Made primarily from Garnacha, from very low yields and a rigorous selection of grapes, this wine stands out for its concentration, elegance, and extraordinary aging potential. The 2000 vintage presents a complex profile, with notes of ripe black fruits, plum, sweet spices, licorice, Mediterranean herbs, and mineral nuances. On the palate, it combines structure, breadth, and an enveloping texture, with integrated tannins and a long, persistent finish.
