L'Ermita, 2000. D.O.Q. Priorat, Catalonia, Spain. Red wine. 1 bottle, 75 cl. Jeb Dunnuck: 97/100. Condition: Fill level IN (Into Neck). Original black capsule intact, with a red embossed seal on top, well-preserved with slight surface marks. Original main label complete and legible, with small scattered spots of moisture and aging. Álvaro Palacios’s lower label is intact and legible, with slight isolated spots. The D.O.Q. Priorat guarantee seal on the back is complete and legible. It comes from a private collection, stored under optimal temperature and humidity conditions. L'Ermita is one of the most prestigious wines of the Priorat and the most iconic creation of Álvaro Palacios, a key figure in the international recognition of this wine region. It comes from an exceptional vineyard located on the slopes of Gratallops, where old vines grow on the characteristic licorella soils, rich in slate, which impart depth and a pronounced mineral character. Made primarily from Garnacha, from very low yields and a rigorous selection of the grapes, this wine stands out for its concentration, elegance, and extraordinary aging potential. The 2000 vintage presents a complex profile, with notes of ripe black fruits, plum, sweet spices, licorice, Mediterranean herbs, and mineral nuances. On the palate, it combines structure, breadth, and an enveloping texture, with integrated tannins and a long, persistent finish. Its very limited production and historical significance make this bottle a particularly prized item among collectors of great Spanish wines.
