Pago del Calvario is one of Finca Allende’s most iconic wines and one of the great expressions of contemporary Rioja. Created by Miguel Ángel de Gregorio, a leading figure in the region’s wine-making renaissance, it embodies a winemaking philosophy centered on the identity of the terroir, the selection of unique vineyards, and the pursuit of wines with great personality and aging potential. Sourced from a vineyard planted in 1945, as indicated on its label, Pago del Calvario stands out for its character as a single-vineyard wine, in which concentration, complexity, and elegance combine with a distinct expression of its origin. The 2004 vintage, considered one of Rioja’s great vintages of the early 21st century, is of particular interest due to its renowned quality and aging potential.
