Viña El Pisón, 2002. D.O.Ca. Rioja, Laguardia, Álava, Basque Country, Spain. Red wine. 6 bottles of 75 cl. With its original wooden case. Opened for inspection. Condition: Liquid levels between 1 and 3 cm below the cork. Original maroon capsules, intact, with the inscription “El Pisón” in relief. One capsule has superficial marks. Original labels are complete; three of them show signs of moisture stains and deterioration of varying severity. The other three labels are in good overall condition. Original back labels and seals from the D.O.Ca. Rioja are preserved. Original wooden case labeled with the wine’s name and origin. It comes from a private collection, stored under optimal temperature and humidity conditions. Viña El Pisón is one of the great examples of single-vineyard Tempranillo in Rioja Alavesa. Produced by Artadi from a vineyard planted in 1945 in Laguardia, on clay-limestone soils, it is distinguished by its concentration, depth, and expression of the terroir. The 2002 vintage, marked by challenging weather conditions in Rioja, represents a vintage of selective production with a more restrained profile than the region’s great vintages. As it ages in the bottle, it may develop nuances of ripe red and black fruit, spices, tobacco, leather, and forest floor, accompanied by an integrated tannic structure.
