Termanthia, 2006. D.O. Toro, Castile and León, Spain. Red wine. 2 bottles of 75 cl. Jay S. Miller (Robert Parker's The Wine Advocate): 96/100. Condition: Fill levels between IN (Into Neck) and BN (Base Neck). Original capsules intact, with slight surface scuffs. One bottle has labels in good condition, while the other has significant paper loss and deterioration on the front and back labels. Designation of Origin seals are present on both bottles. From a private collection, stored under optimal temperature and humidity conditions. Termanthia represents the pinnacle of winemaking at Bodega Numanthia-Termes, founded in 1998 by the Eguren family in the Toro D.O. Made exclusively from Tinta de Toro grapes, it comes from historic, very low-yield vineyards located in the Argujillo area, with pre-phylloxera vines planted during the 19th century. The 2006 vintage is characterized by its extraordinary concentration, structure, and aromatic richness, with notes of ripe black fruits, spices, cocoa, licorice, and mineral undertones. According to the label information, production for this vintage totaled just 6,370 bottles, a fact that reinforces its exclusivity and appeal to collectors. A wine of great personality, power, and remarkable aging potential.
