Vega Sicilia, Valbuena 5th, Reserva 2001. D.O. Ribera del Duero, Valladolid, Spain. Red wine. 3 bottles of 75 cl. Condition: IN (Into Neck). The original maroon capsules are intact, with the vintage engraved on the top. There are slight surface marks and a small crease on the capsule of the middle bottle. The main labels show extensive moisture stains, discoloration, and scuffing, particularly noticeable on the left and center bottles, with surface damage that partially obscures some of the information. This lot comes from a private collection, stored under optimal temperature and humidity conditions. Vega Sicilia is one of the leading names in Spanish viticulture and one of the most prestigious names on the international wine scene. Founded in 1864, this historic winery has played a decisive role in the recognition of the great wines of the Ribera del Duero. Valbuena 5º is one of its most iconic wines, characterized by five years of aging in oak and in the bottle before release. The 2001 vintage is considered one of the appellation’s greatest vintages, renowned for its extraordinary quality and remarkable aging potential.
