Château Lynch-Bages, 1985. A.O.C. Pauillac, Bordeaux, France. Fifth Growth of the 1855 Classification. Red wine. 1 3-liter bottle (double magnum). Decanter: 97/100; Robert Parker/The Wine Advocate: 95/100; Vinous: 95/100; Wine Spectator: 95/100. Condition: TS level (Top Shoulder). It retains a reddish-brown wax seal with extensive cracking, irregularities, and losses at the top, where part of the underlying seal is visible. Deposits and signs of aging are visible in this area, so it is advisable to check for leaks. The main label remains intact and legible, with slight stains, minor scuffs, and subtle signs of storage. It comes from a private collection, where it was stored under optimal temperature and humidity conditions. The 1985 vintage, considered one of Bordeaux’s most outstanding vintages of the 1980s, stands out for its renowned quality and its appeal among collectors of mature wines. This bottle is particularly unique due to its 300 cl double magnum format, a large-capacity size especially prized for its rarity and aging potential. Château Lynch-Bages is one of Pauillac’s great historic estates and one of Bordeaux’s most renowned names. Classified as a Cinquième Grand Cru Classé in 1855, its international prestige and the consistent quality of its wines have earned it a reputation that far exceeds its historical classification.
