Château Trotanoy, 1999. A.O.C. Pomerol, Bordeaux, Gironde, France. Red wine. 7 bottles of 75 cl. Condition: All seven bottles are filled to the neck (IN, Into Neck). Original red capsules, intact, with the names “Château Trotanoy” and “Pomerol” embossed on the top. Original main labels, intact and legible. Some bottles show minor surface marks and deposits around the label area, which do not affect the identification of the château or the vintage. This lot comes from a private collection cellar, maintained under optimal temperature and humidity conditions. Château Trotanoy ranks among the most prestigious historic estates in Pomerol, on the right bank of Bordeaux, and is one of the great hallmarks of the Moueix family’s winemaking heritage. Its name evokes the difficulty of working its dense clay soils, which are particularly demanding during hot periods. The vineyard is situated on an exceptional terroir of deep clay and gravel, with the presence of iron-rich deposits, which favors the production of wines with great concentration, structure, and longevity. Merlot, the predominant variety, is complemented by Cabernet Franc to provide aromatic complexity and balance. The 1999 vintage, characterized in Bordeaux by variable ripening conditions, produced a wine of remarkable personality at this estate, combining Trotanoy’s characteristic richness with an elegant and nuanced expression. After aging in the bottle, it can develop aromas of ripe plum, black cherry, truffle, forest floor, tobacco, cedar, sweet spices, and delicate earthy notes. Its enveloping texture, tannic structure, and length reflect the deep and distinguished style of this château. This set of seven bottles from the same vintage represents a particularly attractive opportunity for collectors and enthusiasts of the great classic wines of Pomerol.
