Château Léoville Las Cases is one of the most prestigious estates in Saint-Julien and one of the great historical landmarks of the Médoc. Its vineyards, located in the famous Clos de Léoville, stretch along the border with Pauillac, on deep gravel soils that favor the ripening of Cabernet Sauvignon—the predominant variety in its blends—usually accompanied by Merlot and Cabernet Franc. The 2003 vintage was marked by an exceptionally hot and dry summer, which produced wines of great concentration, ripeness, and power. Léoville Las Cases 2003 stands out for its structure, depth, and aromatic richness, with notes of blackcurrants, ripe plums, graphite, cedar, and spices. Its combination of intensity, elegance, and aging potential places it among Bordeaux’s great wines for aging, particularly prized by collectors and enthusiasts of historic vintages.
