Château Angélus, 1996. Saint-Émilion Grand Cru AOC, Bordeaux, France. Premier Grand Cru Classé. Red wine. 3 bottles of 75 cl. Condition: IN (Into Neck) level on all three bottles. Original red capsules, intact, featuring the estate’s coat of arms and the Angélus bell in relief. Original labels are complete, well-adhered, and in good condition. From a private collection, stored under optimal temperature and humidity conditions. Château Angélus 1996 dates from a period of consolidation for the estate under the direction of Hubert de Boüard de Laforest. Made primarily from Merlot and Cabernet Franc, it reflects the character of the clay-limestone soils of Saint-Émilion. The 1996 vintage presents a classic, structured profile, with notes of black fruit, cedar, tobacco, spices, and underbrush, well-integrated tannins, and good length. A wine representative of Angélus’s evolution during the 1990s, of particular interest to collectors of great Bordeaux wines.
