Château Cheval Blanc is one of the most iconic estates in Saint-Émilion and one of the great historical landmarks of Bordeaux’s right bank. Its vineyards are located in a prime area near Pomerol, on a mosaic of gravel, clay, and sand soils that contribute to the uniqueness of its wines. The estate is distinguished by the prominence of Cabernet Franc in its blends, paired with Merlot—a combination that imparts structure, aromatic finesse, and remarkable aging potential. The 1992 vintage was marked by difficult weather conditions and heavy rainfall, resulting in wines with a lighter profile and relatively early maturation. In this vintage, Cheval Blanc offers a classic and delicate expression, with notes of ripe red fruits, cedar, tobacco, and underbrush.
