BAO-TAO Rug China. Early 20th century. Wool velvet on a cotton backing. A marine-blue field features a bluish, flower-adorned rocky outcrop upon which a graceful crane perches, observed from the ground by a slender, trotting deer. A beautiful expression of Chinese poetry and philosophy (crane—eternal life; deer—longevity). H_145 cm W_75 cm Expert: Frank KASSAPIAN
