Savonnerie-style tapestry France. First third of the 20th century An ivory field features a scattering of delicate pastel floral stems. The border consists of a figurative “molded” frame in antique gold and antique pink, adorned with acanthus leaf scrolls and embellished with raised panels featuring ivory coats of arms, adorned with flowers and crowned in the corners. Four shell motifs are placed at the cardinal points. The entire design is set against a purple background, which highlights the composition. Beautiful piece. H_325 cm L_345 cm Expert: Frank KASSAPIAN
