VÉRAMINE Rug Iran. Late 20th century. Wool velour on a cotton backing. A brick-red field features a scattering of multilobed florets interspersed with cruciform floral arrangements, all predominantly bluish in color. These serve as anchor points for a vast network of circular trellises, where, alongside small spring bouquets, a variegated bird or a speckled butterfly appears in turn. The main navy-blue border features garlands of sky-blue foliage, from which plant-like corollas emerge. It is flanked by four cream-colored secondary borders with garlands of small flowers. Beautifully fresh. H_290 cm L_ 208 cm Expert: Frank KASSAPIAN
