Very fine, antique SENNEH rug Northeastern Persia. Late 19th century. Wool pile on a cotton backing. A cream field featuring a dense plant-motif latticework, adorned with multicolored botahs incorporating plant motifs (symbols of creation and fertility), is framed by a brick-red border with a garland of polychrome flower petals, flanked by two ivory counter-borders featuring a succession of small flowers and St. Andrew’s crosses.
