KACHAN Rug Iran. Late 20th century Wool pile on a cotton backing. A medallion in a multi-lobed mandorla in shades of navy, ivory, and sky blue, adorned with plant motifs, and its arrow-shaped pendants, takes center stage on a cherry-red field covered with floral scrolls. Four spandrels with tricolor floral brackets complete the design. A wide navy blue border featuring interlaced, curling floral stems, flanked by six counter-borders with garlands of polychrome florets. Beautifully classical.
