KACHAN carpet woven in the workshops of master weaver MORTACHEM Persia. Late 19th century Wool pile on a cotton backing. A brick-red field dotted with vases of flowers features twelve oval marine medallions, each also adorned with exquisite polychrome vases of flowers. Four brick-red and ivory counter-borders with garlands of small flowers frame the main seascape, which is flanked by a series of superb multicolored cruciform floral rosettes interspersed with floral compositions.
