KIRMAN Rug Iran. Mid-20th century Wool pile on a cotton backing. The edges of this rug are framed by a wide, “molded” wavy border, composed of multicolored floral scrolls in a curving pattern. It is flanked by an outer spring-like foliage garland and rich inner floral compositions that converge on an ivory field toward a magnificent, multi-lobed, old rose-colored central medallion featuring oblong and cruciform plant motifs.
