SAROUK Rug Iran. Circa 1970. Technical specifications: wool pile on a cotton backing. A cream field features a delicate sky-blue multi-lobed floral medallion, framed by small bluish plant stems. Four arabesque-patterned corollas form the spandrels. The main cream border features an interlaced pattern of sky-blue foliage, framed by six counter-borders with floral garlands in sky blue, chestnut, and ivory. Beautiful presence.
